Today at work I got an email with a red exclamation point - that means urgent. It said that corporate communications needed a picture of me
today for a dinner on Thursday to recognize new researchers and doctors. Obviously I don't have pictures of myself in my office. I looked through my blog archives and all the pictures I am with someone and/or doing something silly or drinking. Probably not what corporate communications is looking for. You may not know this about me, but I am hyper-critical of myself. I hate almost all photos taken of me. So when I have to make an avatar or something it is usually a picture from 5 years ago. It doesn't matter that much, because I look pretty much the same forever. My sister and her husband take tons of photos, so I emailed my sister to see if she had any photos of me by myself. This is what she sent me
This is from when Jess was on bedrest last winter and we did puzzles every Friday night. Posing with a puzzle piece. The other picture she sent me I am posing like it is a mug shot with a menu in my hands. No wonder I hate all pictures of myself. So, I really need some new pictures of myself.

Actually, Em, believe it or not, I have learned and tried to copy you when I get my picture taken. You always smile with your teeth and that looks so much better than trying to cover your teeth up. If you ever had braces, they done you good! So even if you think you look silly in your pictures, mostly you are smiling and the big message that gets across is that you are a fun! and lovable! lady!
Nora Nell, I never had braces, which is maybe why I am so comfortable smiling with my teeth? After all the ANTM we have watched, I feel like I should spend some time practicing in front of a mirror so I take better pictures! Ha ha! Or maybe I should practice smiling with my eyes.
